ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest-2017 will be held on 27th (Sunday) August in Ota Ward Gymnasium (1-11-1, Kamata, Ota-ku, Tokyo 144-0031). A Sri Lankan Students’ team will also be competing in this Robot Competition in this year. SLSAJ have an opportunity to participate in the event as observers.

Financial/Material Contributions for National Flood Relief Operations From Expatriate Community
As you are aware, due to heavy monsoon rain several areas of the country have been affected by serious flooding and landslides. Around 471,542 people belonging to 128,586 families were affected in 15 Districts due to the flood situation.164 Deaths and 104 missing reported as per the situation report issued by Disaster Management Center on 29-05-2017 at 0700hrs.
Tri forces, Ministry of Disaster Management and other relevant Government agencies have been mobilized to assist flood victims and provide necessary relief.
As informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colombo those Sri Lankan expatriates and well wishers living in Japan can contribute to the National Flood Relief Operations by making financial contributions. Please contact the Embassy of Sri Lanka through mobile No. 080-3693-0036 or 03-3440-6915 (direct) and 03-3440-6911/12 Ext. 121 or 100 to obtain further details. All such contributions will be acknowledged by an official receipt issued by this Embassy.
The Ministry of Disaster Management has provided a list of relief items which are required urgently for the flood victims. The list is attached herewith. If you wish to provide material assistance, the consignment should be addressed to Secretary/Disaster Management.
