Members of the SLSAJ participated Tsunami relief project held near the Fukushima power plant with the help of Sri Lankan Embassy,consular offices and the Sri Lankan community living in Japan.
News about the event has been published in several news papers/blogs in Japan as well as in Sri Lanka,
Because of the damages of the power plants, power cut is scheduled in Tokyo and surrounding areas from today (Monday).
Each area will be sorted into five groups and undergo the power cut in the following schedule.
1st group’s power cut from 6:20 to 10:00
2nd group’s power cut from 9:20 to 13:00
3rd group’s power cut from 12:20 to 16:00
4th group’s power cut from 13:50 to 17:30
5th group’s power cut from 15:20 to 19:00
1st group’s power cut from 16:50 to 20:30
2nd group’s power cut from 18:20 to 22:00
1st and 2nd groups have to face power cut twice in a day.
This schedule is tentative and subject to change.

Initial discussion of the New Year Festival 2011 will be held in the Embassy of Sri lanka. SLSAJ would like to invite all the Sri Lankans living in Japan to participate and contribute towards organizing the festival planned to be held on April 17.
This is to invite you to contribute “Tharanga”, which is the annual magazine of SLSAJ with your knowledge, creations and share them with people.
We are looking for articles, art works, new items, information, etc. on various topics both by adults and children.

Pls kindly refer the attached invitation received from the Sri Sambudhdhaloka Viharaya,Ibaraki, regarding a construction of a approximately 24 feet Buddha statue on February 13th 10.30 am.
This temple has started the construction of buildings and the development of the land three months ago in that place and still under construction.You may get an idea from the attached images
